Microblading by Brows in Grace Permanent Makeup
Microblading, also known as 3D Brows and Feather Brows, is a popular technique in permanent makeup where pigment is embedded in lines mimicking individual eyebrow hairs.
We use this advanced, super-intricate permanent makeup technique to deliver extremely detailed results tailored to your individual needs. We can fill in gaps in patchy eyebrows, extend the length of the eyebrow, reshape and define brows and help uneven brows to look more symmetrical. We can also help reconstruct thinning brows, and even give you very natural eyebrows if you have none at all.
During a microblading treatment, we utilize a very fine tool to place pigment just under the upper layer of skin. Unlike a regular tattoo, microblading fades to nothing over time and causes no permanent stain or skin damage. With proper aftercare, microblading will last one to two years. This means its shape, color, and intensity can be periodically adjusted to always look modern and fresh.
Not sure if Microblading is right for you? If you have oily skin or large pores, we highly recommend Nano Brows instead. Read our full comparison guide: Nano Brows vs. Microblading to see which technique will last longer for your skin type.
Before we start the microblading treatment, we discuss your skin complexion, desired color as well the shape of the your brows. We then draw a sketch with a pencil to make sure you are 100% happy with the look before we start to apply the pigment. Just prior to the application, we apply a numbing cream to make your visit a completely painless experience.
Once the microblading treatment is complete, your brows will go through a healing process, which takes three to four weeks. During this time, the very upper layer of skin will flake off, revealing your gorgeous new brows. Once your microblading is completely healed, we strongly advice you come in for your touch-up appointment where we examine the pigment and make needed updates to ensure a truly long-lasting look.
Frequently Asked Questions About Microblading
Q: How long does Microblading last? A: On average, Microblading lasts between 12 to 18 months before requiring a touch-up (often called a "Color Boost"). Factors like your skin type, sun exposure, and skincare routine can affect longevity. To keep your machine hair strokes looking fresh and natural, we recommend an annual touch-up appointment at our Lake Forest studio.
Q: What is the healing process like for Microblading? A: The healing process typically takes 4-6 weeks. In the first few days, your brows will appear darker and bolder. Around days 5-7, you may experience slight flaking or scabbing—this is normal! After this phase, the pigment may seemingly disappear (a "ghosting" phase) before reappearing lighter and more natural by week 4.
